Moyer Memorial Gardens

TRAVELERS REST, SC — Coleman Memorial Cemetery, located at 1599 Geer Highway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, has officially been purchased by longtime funeral director Matthew Moyer, owner of The Howze Mortuary. The cemetery will now operate under the new name, Moyer Memorial Gardens.
Moyer, who has served families in the Travelers Rest community for many years, hopes the acquisition reflects a long-term commitment to preserving and enhancing a place that holds deep meaning for local families.
Moyer Memorial Gardens will continue to serve the community with dignity, compassion, and respect while honoring the history and legacy of the cemetery. Our goal is to provide families with a beautiful, peaceful, and professionally maintained place of remembrance for generations to come.
The cemetery, formerly known as Coleman Memorial Cemetery, has long been an important part of the Travelers Rest community with plots selling as early as the 1930’s before formerly being recognized as a perpetual care cemetery by the State in 1981. Under the new ownership, families can expect continued care of the grounds, preservation of existing records and arrangements, and future improvements focused on beautification and service as well as community focused events.
