The 2025-2026 academic year will be marked by change at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in the way of the opening of a new building and the introduction of a new bell schedule.
The St. Joseph’s Way Center will offer numerous benefits to students, beginning with a large meeting room for Campus Ministry, House meetings and other events. The meeting room will be called McGrath Hall after Founder and former Admissions Director Barbara McGrath, who retired from full-time employment following the 2022-2023 school year after three decades of dedicated service.
The building also will have: four theology classrooms; student support services; college guidance; the school store; and outdoor space for lunch, events and classes.
Through the You Belong Capital Campaign, $6 million was raised to fund the building. Groundbreaking was held on May 1, 2024, the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker.
St. Joseph’s also will introduce a new schedule, one created in response to extensive feedback from students, parents and faculty over the last two years and backed by research from Independent School Management (ISM) on how students learn best.
The schedule was constructed in order to: reduce the academic pressure on students; embody administration’s support for student well-being and academic excellence; ease the burden on teachers; and add time daily for community building.
