Greenville Symphony Orchestra brings a New York City holiday celebration to the Peace Center with Holiday at Peace, presented by United Community Bank.

GREENVILLE, SC Greenville Symphony Orchestra brings a New York City holiday celebration to the Peace Center with Holiday at Peace, presented by United Community Bank. The symphony’s annual Christmas extravaganza has been reimagined with the Big Apple in mind and continues this year at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 17, and in a matinee performance at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 18.

Holiday at Peace is a celebration of all things festive and magical at Christmastime and has become a much-anticipated tradition for families all over the Upstate. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra (GSO) will present three performances of this unforgettable show at the Peace Center, where the audience will be swept away to New York City to experience the holidays as if they were at Rockefeller Plaza themselves.

The show is hosted by Jamarcus Gaston, one of Greenville’s most beloved and engaging media personalities. Music Director Edvard Tchivzhel is the conductor, and the GSO is honored to welcome back Broadway Star Rachel York. “Rachel’s voice is splendidly versatile. Julie Andrews Agrees. ‘Not only is Rachel a honeybun, but she has a voice that I would kill to have.’” – Elle Magazine. Guests will also be treated to dancers from the International Ballet, and of course, Santa will once again return to this spectacular event.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” says Maestro Edvard Tchivzhel. “And what better way to ring in the holidays than with one of Greenville’s favorite traditions, Holiday at Peace! We’re thrilled to reunite with the incredibly talented and charming Broadway Star Rachel York as our featured vocalist, host Jamarcus Gaston, and the festive performances of International Ballet.”
The audience will recognize many seasonal favorites in this year’s version of Holiday at Peace, such as “All I Want for Christmas is You,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Let it Snow,” and much more, in a variety of musical styles from classical, to popular to Broadway hits.

As guests enter the Peace Center on Friday and Saturday nights, they will enjoy the festive sound of a brass ensemble from Riverside High School. In keeping with the Greenville Symphony’s goal to connect the community with music and celebrate local musicians, all three performances will feature local choirs in the Peace Concert Hall lobby. Ticket holders will enjoy the voices of the Long Branch Baptist Church choir on Friday, the Temple of Israel choir on Saturday, and the children of Mauldin Methodist Preschool on Sunday.

Tickets to the Greenville Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday at Peace Concert, presented by United Community Bank, range from $20-$65.
