YMCA of Greenville Foundation Receives $30,000 From Former Greenville Assistant City Manager

The YMCA of Greenville Foundation announced that Bob Manz, former Greenville Assistant City Engineer, left $30,000 to the YMCA of Greenville Foundation after his passing on July 3, 2021.

Manz was an avid sports lover and was known to many as “The Oracle”, for his encyclopedic sports knowledge. An active member of the Caine Halter YMCA, and involved in numerous adult sports leagues, Manz’s $30,000 gift from his estate will go towards youth sports programs to benefit young athletes for decades.

The YMCA of Greenville is for all and does not turn anyone away if they don’t have the ability to pay. “The YMCA of Greenville Foundation is critical to help fund these programs in perpetuity, so that everyone that wants to participate in a program can”, says MaryEllis Petrosian, executive director of the YMCA of Greenville Foundation. “His gift will help preserve youth sports for years to come.”
