Brian A. Murdoch Joins Fidelity Bank in Spartanburg, SC

FUQUAY-VARINA, North Carolina (May 31, 2022)– Fidelity Bank is pleased to announce Brian Murdoch has joined its team as Senior Vice President and Market Executive. In his new position, Mr. Murdoch is responsible for developing and managing business banking relationships, as well as leading sales and market expansion in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Spartanburg is the second location in Fidelity Bank’s South Carolina expansion. The new branch is expected to open in late summer.

Brian has twenty-eight years of financial experience in Upstate South Carolina. Prior to joining Fidelity Bank, he held various senior management and lending roles. In addition to his financial background, Brian is active in the community. He is a member of the City of Spartanburg Board of Zoning Appeals and Spartanburg Downtown Rotary. Mr. Murdoch graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of South Carolina Bankers School at USC, Graduate School of Banking at LSU, and ABA National Commercial Lending School at SMU. He currently resides in Spartanburg and has two children.

FUEL Accepting Applications for 3rd Quarter Nonprofit Grant Program

FUEL, a Greenville, S.C.-based marketing and advertising agency specializing in strategy, branding, and demand generation, is accepting applications for its FUEL for Good Grant program for the third quarter. As part of its commitment to community service, FUEL selects a local nonprofit and provides up to $10,000 of pro bono marketing services each quarter.

To qualify, applicants must be based in Greenville County, S.C., serve the local community, hold a valid 501(c)(3) certification, and have a clearly identifiable need for marketing assistance. Nonprofit organizations meeting these requirements are encouraged to complete an online application at www.fuelforbrands.com/grant. The deadline for the third quarter grant is June 17.

Launched in 2020, the FUEL for Good Grant program allows the agency’s team to collaborate and dedicate its strategic marketing and branding expertise to help nonprofits with specific marketing challenges allowing them to further their missions and address critical needs in the Greenville community. To date, FUEL has donated nearly 900 hours to ten local nonprofit organizations developing strategies, logos, videos, content, and campaigns generating impactful results.

James Poole joins the William Pender Team of CrossCountry Mortgage as Business Development Specialist

Prior to joining CCM, Poole served in the US Army in various roles, including in its 3rd Infantry (“The Old Guard” Official Escort to the President), as a member of the Military District of Washington Special Reaction Team, as a noncommission officer in charge for the SWAT Sniper Team for the 17th Military Police Detachment, as a Biometrics Trainer for the Combined Joint Inner Agency Task Force 435 and as a US Liaison for NATO Special Operations Task Force 47.

Technology Center Donated to Phyllis Wheatly Community Center

During the COVID-19 pandemic, families across the world where not able to visit their families and friends in person that resulted in a high rate of have isolation, depression, anxiety and loineness. Many people become disconnected from their family and friends, so Elder Source Ministries and Just Call Bill teamed together to develop a local program to help senior adults. Earlier this year, Elder Source Senior Ministries (501 c 3) received a grant to cover the costs of providing some a solution our seniors adults by connecting to their families and friends through technology.

Last week Stan Means (Elder Source Senior Ministries) and Bill Vicary (Just Call Bill) donated a Technology Center to The Phyllis Wheatly Center, Greenville, South Carolina. The Technology Center, consisting of a new 55” Smart TV, iPad, and mobile stand that will provide the senior adult program staff to help connect members with their family and friends, as well as be used in onsite programs through technology. They will be able to video chat through Zoom and Face Time to proactively engage with their loved ones. The Elder Source Senior Ministries free App is also included to provide hours of spiritual content, such as short devotions videos and hymns.“Ever since I talked with Stan and Bill about this project, our center has been looking forward to offer the ability to have our members see and talk to their families and friends and improve our programs. This is an amazing opportunity and will help our members and the community be actively engaged and to improve their quality of life,” Tiffany Boyd, Program Manager-Senior Adults, Phyllis Wheatly Center.
