The Honorable Dr. Luke Henry, a member of the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners representing the 4th Congressional District, led a two-hour session on South Carolina Rules & Regulations at Sherman College of Chiropractic’s annual Lyceum on May 1, 2025.
Dr. Henry’s presentation provided an in-depth overview of South Carolina’s legal and regulatory framework as it relates to chiropractic practice. A required course for Doctors of Chiropractic, the session addressed key areas such as licensure requirements, scope of practice, and ethical standards. Dr. Henry emphasized the necessity of understanding state-specific laws to ensure compliance and deliver safe, professional care.
“Understanding the legal landscape is crucial for doctors of chiropractic to navigate their practice responsibly,” said Dr. Henry. “This session aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge necessary to operate within the bounds of South Carolina’s regulations, encouraging both legal compliance and high standards of professionalism.”
Held on the college’s Spartanburg, South Carolina campus, Lyceum is a flagship event for Sherman College, uniting students, faculty, and chiropractic professionals for continuing education and development. Sessions like Dr. Henry’s reflect the college’s mission to cultivate excellence and integrity within the chiropractic community.
Dr. Henry extended his gratitude to all who attended, noting the high level of engagement and thoughtful discussion during the session. The Board consists of nine members, appointed by the Governor, and serves to protect the public. Dr. Henry practices at 1314 Pelham Road in Greenville and teaches continuing education lectures nationwide.
