Greer Community Ministries (GCM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Farrington for the role of Executive Director effective April 7th, 2025. GCM is a Greer-local nonprofit organization with the mission to ensure that no one in the Greater Greer area is hungry, without adequate clothing, or socially isolated.
Jeff recently retired from his role as head coach for North Greenville University’s football team. Jeff’s coaching career spanned over 42 years. During his time at NGU, Jeff “led the university’s team to the National Christian College Athletic Association Victory Bowl championship in 2014” (Greenville Journal, 2024). Jeff established an incredible and well documented legacy throughout his coaching career transforming young men into leaders, while encouraging competition through a Christian worldview. He and his wife Traci are a dynamic duo in the community, both on and off the field, for their encouragement and help for those God has placed in their path.
Jeff is a graduate of Greer High School and The Citadel. Jeff’s wife, Traci, is a physical education instructor at Greer Middle School. The Farringtons have been married for 32 years. They have two daughters, Maddison Mullinax and Sydney Kramm, and a son, Bobby Farrington. Jeff and Traci are members of Fairview Baptist Church in Greer. Upon acceptance of this role, Jeff commented, “Very excited for the opportunity God has provided to lead as Executive Director at Greer Community Ministries. I look forward to continuing His service, relationships, and growth established by James Abbott and GCM staff with the Greater Greer community.”
Jeff is replacing James Abbott, who faithfully served with GCM for 2.5 years. James says, “God has filled me with gratitude for my season of service here at Greer Community Ministries. I do take a little Spiritual pride in the staff and volunteers that are part of our GCM family. It encourages me seeing God’s thumbprint working in the lives of us all. God continues to
