GREENVILLE, SC- Local non-profit, The Family Effect, is hosting its annual Transformation
Breakfast. This event unites community members and leaders in a common vision of providing
hope, healing families and eliminating addiction.
The mission of The Family Effect is to empower individuals to make a difference through
supporting the work of the Phoenix Center. The Family Effect strongly believes that when we
heal a family, we all get better.
Richard Cabral, starred for 4 seasons as ‘Coco’ on the hit FX series “Mayans M.C.”, garnering
a Critics Choice Award nomination for his work, and more recently was seen on a special
event episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” He is currently appearing on the new Peacock limited
series “Twisted Metal” alongside Anthony Mackie. He will be sharing with guests his personal
story of being a former gang member and how he was rehabilitated through Homeboy
Industries.
The 2025 Transformation Breakfast will be highlighting the important theme of coming out of
the shadows and into the light: the journey to recovery, through the backdrop of graffiti.

Center Ball Room. Doors will open at 7 A.M.; breakfast will be served at 7:15 A.M. The
program will begin promptly at 8 A.M and conclude at 9 A.M.
The Family Effect board members and representatives as well as Phoenix Center staff will be
available for interviews the day of the event. Interviews can also be arranged prior to and after
the event as well.
